This book was fast paced and exciting from the first paragraph. I can't wait for the next book to come out. Karen Marie Moning is an awesome writer and I look foreward to reading all of her books in the future.

5 out of 5 stars Can't wait for the next book...the cliffhangers are killing me   September 15, 2008

I think I may have never read a book with such a tormenting cliffhanger. It happened after Darkfever, but Bloodfever was right at hand. Now I am lost. the story has developed quite rapidly and Mac is growing up. She has another side in her that understands what she is all about and sometimes gets a bit drunk on the "power". But I also love that she gets back to being more of a "valley girl". She would go insane otherwise. I do admit that I would like the story between Barrons and "Ms.Lane" to develop into more of a romantic one. Don't get me wrong - I like the tension, but I think she needs to have someone else that means as much as her sister to her. She loves her parents but cannot share being herself with them...So It should be Barrons. What I would like a bit more explored is why she always says she is one of the most powerful. I have read her in action and she is good, but when I read about the superhuman speed of Dani's it seems there could be more of an explanation - well, 3 more books down the road I am sure it will be explained. All in all - I recommend the book highly if you like a strong yet human heroine and some supernatural action with (of course) the handsome brooding possible love interest.

4 out of 5 stars Entertaining read   September 12, 2008

This is the 2nd of KMM's "Fever" series (after Darkfever) and it does not disappoint. I purposesly waited to read this until just prior to Faefever being available because I knew there would be many unanswered questions.

MacKayla Lane is a great character - modern, feisty, spunky, strong, etc. I have really enjoyed reading about her acclaimation into a fae/shade -hunter. She has internal struggles with her former glam-girl self and her current roll as an arse-kicker.

I adore Jeremy Barrons. He's the ultimate man of mystery - so suave, sexy, and strong. He can be exasperating and bossy, but I also like how he is very protective and confident of Mac. I'm anxious to see how their relationship progresses.

Good job, Karen. I'll keep reading this series!

5 out of 5 stars Wait, wait, wait   September 8, 2008

I am not going to buy Feafever (book 3) next month. Not because I don't like the series, but because it will make me hunger for the next book for one year AGAIN. I am totally hooked on these series. KMM can't write them fast enough. I guess the best thing is to wait for her to complete all five books, take a few days off from work, close the door, turn my off my phone and read them all in order in one time. That would be pure bliss.

5 out of 5 stars exciting series.. can't wait for more!   September 8, 2008

I LOVED this book! I stumbled across this author and this book while looking for books to take on vacation. WOW! After finishing Bloodfever, I quickly came back to Amazon and bought the first book, Darkfever and pre-ordered Faefever - I'm hooked! (however, I must say that I really, really, *really* hate it when authors switch from paperback to hardback mid series.)

I'm glad I read this book first. Bloodfever was much faster paced and I thought the series really started to unfold. Mac is much more likable character in this book. I absolutely love Barrons - dark, mysterious, sexy. I'm also curious if Mac learns more about her biological mother and why she and Alina were given up for adoption.

I can empathize with other readers who posted about being disappointed about a favorite romance author going slightly off course (been there, done that with the JR Ward Black Dagger Brotherhood series), but as this was my first experience with Moning, I didn't have any expectations.
