5 out of 5 stars Great book, but I am worried about the movie.   January 25, 2007

Marky Mark as Bob Lee Swagger??

I can count on one hand the number of books that move as fast as this novel does. At least one other one is also by Hunter (Dirty White Boys).

Read this book, it is one of the best thrillers ever written.

5 out of 5 stars WoW... Before going to the movies, READ IT FIRST   January 22, 2007

When I saw the trailer, I felt it was like another fugitive clome movie. But I was curious about the sniper story, so I got a copy and started reading. Boy, this book got my 100% attention!!

How much attention?? Well, let me say that as I kept reading and flipping pages, I lost track of time that I needed to sleep!!! I was reading til 3am. Has very good detail on the weapons and didn't waste too many pages on putting too much detail like Clancy and other authors. We are all grown ups to get some of the details in our minds.

Will surely watch the movie, but I got a feeling is gonna give audience a Fugitive type of movie instead of Bob's story.

5 out of 5 stars Another Stephen hunter book I just couldn't put down.   June 5, 2006

I polished this one off in about 5 days. I know that doesn't sound impressive, but for me it is. The Bob Swagger character just continues to amaze me. The storyline progesses in a way that kept me guessing for the most part. I did guess the little hitch at the end which was referenced earlier in the book, but it made it no less satisfying to read. Plenty of action and intrigue for anyone that likes spy/suspense novels.

I will be checkiing out other Stephen Hunter books as soon as possible.

Enjoy!

5 out of 5 stars Awesome! Hunters best no question   April 19, 2006
This book was awesome. It is the reason I read Hunters other titles. I was glued to this book and read it in one 24 hour period. It keeps you guessing the whole time and the action never stops. truely a pleasure to read. If you like this book, the other Bob lee book that is next best is "Point of impact"

5 out of 5 stars Best of its genre   April 18, 2006
This book was so good that I loved every word of it! Bob Lee Swagger is the ultimate male. With elements of David Morrell's First Blood, this great story of payback and redemption is one that helped to break the stereotype that all Vietnam vets were a bunch of PTSD psychos.

The story moves at such a unyielding pace that when it reaches it's brilliant conclusion, I was cheering out loud. I hope Stephen Hunter writes more books that deal with modern times because he is the best.
