"Bob the Nailer" hammers at your imagination from page one! August 13, 1997 Stephen Hunter is a name Hollywood should have it's eager hands on. "Point of Impact" dazzles the intellect with a superb plot leaving one continually wondering "what's going to happen next" and leaving one amazed at the outcomes! At the same time, his characters are fantastically weaved such that one could place "Bob the Nailer" up with Paul Bunyan, Davy Crocket, and Judge Roy Bean. Imagine if you will, the movie "In the Line of Fire" by Clint Eastwood, and then imagine a story a hundred times more exciting and a hundred times more imaginative. That is about as close as can be compared in film to the enthralling and adventurous book by Hunter, "Point of Impact". So few books nowadays can authentically grab our attentions from the first page, hold our rapt attention, and piledrive us through to the last page with sheer exaltation and hunger like "Point of Impact"! This book among few in fiction is a true testament to "researching your topic" and pure, God-given story-tellin' talent! Stephen Hunter and his writings have taken me to Heaven and back with the sheer caliber of his plots, characters, and writing style. This book will earn a special place on the shelf in your den. This is the book that you will warn your friends not to crease the pages or the binding of. You'll treasure this read as you open to the first page again and again, perhaps smelling the book as you fan the book's edges. I guarantee you'll close this book a far different person than when you began it! Sean Goodwinsean.goodwin@dol.net Elkton, Maryland
An enthralling and fast-paced thriller August 7, 1997 An absolutely mesmerizing story! It had been recommended to me by men and women, and when I finally started reading I was up all night. Highly recommended
How the good old boy foxes the smart guys June 11, 1997 Bob Lee shows the best and smartest of the day the way. Bob is my hero and I could not put this book down. I stayed until the end and then started to read it all over again becuse I could not believe the way that he showed them up. The moral is " Don't mess with Bob Lee or his dog". The good old boy will get you and send you to hell with a smile on his face.If you want to be entertained then get a copy today.
Truly Outstanding! February 8, 1997 Point of Impact combines the deadly art of military snipers, with the instructional firearms lore to great effect. Bob Lee Swagger is one of a kind, which is unfortunate in this day and age. I look forward to the sequel(Black Light), which should be arriving any day now, with great anticipation.
excellent February 4, 1997 This is best of what I have read from Stephen Hunter to date. The material is pure entertainment as not much work was done regarding technical points. The story has some of the best and most credible villians I've found so far. I have loaned the book to a number of other people with rave reviews from all
